Juggling Act!

Juggling Act!
(October 2009)

Well we are two months into going from a family of three to a family of four and I have to say that it has been a juggling act! Paul and I have fumbled quite a few times but we are learning to multitask better and Jacob is usually pretty good with giving Paul and I the space and time to figure things out. However this past week Jacob has decided that he was tired of giving us space and he wanted some of his old habits to come back into play. He gets a bottle in the morning and evening and he used to get it in the rocking recliner with either myself or Paul. Since Andrew has been born we have switched to either Jacob feeding himself his bottle on the couch or occasionally when Andrew happens to be sleeping or in the swing one of us will feed him his bottle. The other day Jacob decided that he was going to have none of the couch and decided that he didn't care if Andrew was asleep or not he wanted a bottle and he wanted it in the recliner.......hence the picture above. The scene above has been played out NUMEROUS times this week by either myself or Paul and although it hasn't always been smooth....sometimes Andrew does not want to be rocked with his brother or vice versa.......we have managed to not have any meltdowns (on Jacob's or our parts...hehehehehe) oh well what can you do!

This juggling act that we have started is only going to get more and more complex as the months go by. I can only imagine what it's going to be like when Andrew decides to crawl or sit and play on the floor while I am trying to play with Jacob or cook , or clean, or whatever....seriously how do people do it with TONS of kids?!?!?!

I just have to thank God that Jacob is such a loving and well behaved little boy!

It isn't as hard as we thought it would be and with a great husband and a 2 year old that goes with the flow it makes it even easier! Still wouldn't want 10 kids though! ((GRIN))
