Creepy bag of bones!
(October 31, 2009)
This year was the first year that we have really been able to get into the Halloween spirit with Jacob. Although we didn't got Trick-or-Treating we did get Jacob a costume (2 costumes, he didn't like the first one) . The cutest part of it was that for three days straight he wore his costume all over the place, to Target, the pet store, grocery store, and to relatives houses. We got tons of "oh how cutes" and Jacob just thought he was the "bees knees" in his costume. Of course unlike most 2 year olds who would have chosen a firefighter, Superman, Batman, or Spiderman my nontraditional little guy decided he wanted to be a skeleton. There was a good reason for this, as a few days before Halloween his favorite show "Imagination Movers" had their Halloween special and one of the characters "Smitty" dressed up as a skeleton......so Jacob wanted to be a skeleton. Luckily his grandmother had bought him some skeleton PJ's to wear underneath and of course we found some skull and crossbone socks to wear too so we were all decked out!
Halloween night we went to a parade where Jacob got to get some candy that was thrown from the floats and we got to see policemen, firemen, tons of marching bands, and floats. He really enjoyed it and we got to still get him some candy without him having to go up to peoples houses. He tends to be VERY VERY shy around people he doesn't know and Paul and I decided that actual "trick or treating" would probably have been a disaster so we avoided it.
We also painted our 2nd annual hay bale as a spider since Jacob just LOOOOVVVEEES bugs! The one thing that Jacob could have cared less about was the pumpkin carving so Paul did that alone this year, hopefully Jacob will be more into that next year!
